Katlyn Harrison is a Senior Consultant at Summa Strategies, specializing in communication and consumer issues.
Joining Summa in 2009, Katlyn is part of the government relations team, crafting and executing strategic long-term government relations and legislative affairs plans for clients. In addition to the government relations work she has done for clients, Katlyn is responsible for developing targeted public relations programs and communications strategies for national and regional clients. Specifically, she creates social media strategies, and educates clients about how to get started in social media through the development of grassroots online engagement campaigns.
Katlyn acquired significant communication and public administration experience during her tenure with the Department of National Defence. In her role as a Program Coordinator, she designed new recruitment and apprenticeship strategies for civilian employees.
Katlyn has been actively involved in the political process since accepting a position with a Member of Parliament Barry Devolin, in her hometown of Omemee, Ontario in 2006. Since then, she has worked at both the federal and provincial levels of government in a number of different positions, including legislative assistant and lead social media strategist for a provincial election campaign.
Katlyn holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) degree with a specialization in Communication from the University of Ottawa and a post-graduate certificate in Fundraising Management at Algonquin College. Katlyn remains an active volunteer and community leader through work with educational, athletic, and political associations.
